It's what I screamed yesterday morning when I discovered these on my Tomato plant... These are Moth cocoons!!! Ever since I brought the plant inside (it's 4 1/2 feet tall and full of tomatoes, I wasn't about to let the weather kill it) something just hasn't been right. There were signs, little black crusties on leaves ( I now know there were droppings) and when I returned from my trip to Salem over Halloween weekend I discovered some of the tomatoes had been gnawed on. I found two of these little buggers plus a newly hatched moth chillin on his former cocoon. I let the moth go outside but I flushed the two cocoons. Usually I would have been thrilled to see nature in action but moths are evil and they ate my tomatoes! - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone
