More pictures of leaves
I'm lucky enough to live in a building with a court yard. When I was younger I use to ( and who are we kidding, I still do) think of it as my own secret garden. Unfortunately my building also has a super who can't just let nature be. A day before he raked up all the pretty leaves I got some wonderful photos. Enjoy my farewell to fall:

Blogger to Blogger shout out
My dear friend Kelly Kramer over at Friendly Brown knits shares my obsession with the wonderful colors of Autumn leaves. She's got some truly awesome photos over here on her blog but I hope she won't mind if I steal a little bit of her thunder and share some of my pictures of leaves I took recently. Taken with the Hipstamatic App on my iPhone, the different lenses really make the colors pop. It makes me sad that the season is ending and there has already been snow on Long island. Fall is my favorite season and I hate to see it go.

My Favorite Wine.
I am fairly new to the world of wine. I know nothing about vintage or grapes or dry verses whatever the alternative to dry is. So when I find a wine I like, I don't forget it. But my absolute favorite wine is only available during Harvest season so since it's that time of year I thought I would take a second and gush about Spyder Bite Wine. This wine is produced by Hazlitt Vineyards in upstate New York. It's an apple wine and very sweet. I first tasted it at the NY state Sheep and Wool festival 2 years ago and I have been in love ever since. I tend to order Spyder Bite for Thanksgiving to go along with the Apple pie we have for dessert. Hazlitt has amazing wines at great prices and they are local which is always a plus in my book. I'm hoping to see them at Sheep and Wool this year and plan on having a bottle of Spyder Bite on my table this Thanksgiving. If you like sweet wines then this a wine you should definitely try.

The love of the felted Acorns
I have been seeing felted acorns for a while now and I really do love them. The look easy enough to make, it seems like the hardest part would be the actual gathering of the acorn tops. Where does one find all those tops? I guess in theory what you would do is find a tree with squirrels and just wait for them to drop some right? There are a lot of squirrels in Central Park but they are more inclined to rummage through the trash can them gather acorns. This will be my Fall Goal, to find tops and create felted acorns and someone integrate them into a center piece for Thanksgiving. Yup, that's what I'm going to do...
