Creation Love

I made these over month ago but I just cannot get over how cute they are. These little skulls are just the right amount of creepy. I call them my Day Of the Dead earrings.

Up in the Garden... My squash is preggers!!!

I was so excited to share the news with you about my summer squash plant. Over the weekend I was thrilled, shocked and freaked to discover that my summer squash plant had a baby squash on it. Actually two but one was really tiny. I've never had luck with Squash before so imagine my surprise to fine my in door plant thriving enough to produce a little squash. Sadly this momentous event was short lived. The baby squash died today and fell of the plant. But I was glad to have known it and this bodes well for my season. Half my plants will go into the ground this weekend into a plot lovingly donated to me by a family friend. For now, let me share a photo of my late baby squash...

The Orchid Show

Last week I insisted that one of my vacation days be used to see the Orchid show at the Bronx Botanical Gardens in (you guessed it) the Bronx. Orchids are my favorite flowers. I had two in my bathroom until I accidentally killed one but one out of two isn't bad. Anyway, the Orchid Show is the most amazing display of the flower that you will ever see. Floor to ceiling covered with all different types of Orchids. No matter how many pictures I take, I can never totally capture the beauty of this unique plant. But boy, did I try...

Up in the Garden: The Seedlings

I don't care if Spring has sprung or not. You hear that Spring? I'm starting without you! My seedings are growing comfortably on my window sill while I continue to toy with the issue of location for my garden. My roof is still out of commission and most likely will be till summer. My Aunt has offered me a space in her garden in New Jersey which is probably where I'll end up. While the thought of not being able to see my plants everyday is a bit of a downer, the upside is actual garden space and more of it! Always look on the bright side. For now, check out my first wave of tomatoes and summer squash.
