Long overdue update

Greetings!

I have been absent from blogging the past few months. It's not because I don't love you, I have just been crazy busy juggling three, yes three jobs. I have almost no time for myself let alone energy to do anything more then crawl to my bed and collapse. But I miss my blog and I do have several projects going on that I want to share. Not to mention I am now the proud owner of an iPad for which to blog to the world with. So I hope to update more. In the meantime I wanted to share my new obsession ( or at least one of them) with you. http://pinterest.com is a super cool way to log things you see and heart during your travels throughout the web. It pins them and the link to the site it came from so you can find it later. It also let's you categorize your pins into different folders such as, "Books" "Fashion" or "Crafts". Here are a few pictures from my Pintrest, mostly crafts and ideas for projects. If you are a crafter, then you definitely need a Pintrest.

Coming soon: Mollie does canning!

Small Summer Crafts

Just wanted to share some of the smaller things I've created this summer.

This is my most recent. It's made using a fortune from a fortune cookie that I'm using as a mantra during my giant job search.

This is a felted Peacock feather I did one night. Took about 2 1/2 hours.

Glass jewel magnets. The paper was actually a candle box that i loved so much I saved it and am stretching it out in various craft projects.
That's all for now but the summers not over yet!

Summer Projects Part 1

I have several projects going on this summer and I kinda doubt I'll get to all of them but as they say, you've got to start somewhere. So here is where I started.
A while back I did a post about a couple of mirrors I found at a flea market up in the Berkshires. I have decided to keep the larger mirror somewhat traditional with the idea that it will act as a fireplace center piece. It has a leg and I'm considering drilling hooks into it to hang stocking from during the holidays. It's was an ugly white color so over the Fourth of July weekend while at my aunts house, I stripped the paint. For anyone who hasn't has the pleasure of working with paint stripper let me tell you, it sucks. In my case after stripping the top layer I discovered a second layer of a different type of white paint that the stripper had little effect on. It took most of the day and I did employ my boyfriend for some of the work since it requires a decent amount of elbow grease and I have next to none. By the end of the day I had a very ugly, somewhat stripped mirror. Now I just need to figure out what color to paint it.

Up in the Garden: The roof is open!!!

Life has been so busy lately I've hardly had time to worry about gardening but I am thrilled to announce that the roof is open! Or maybe it's not but either way I have a tomato plant, basil and chives up there.

The majority of my windowsill seedlings are in the Berkshires. I sent a totally of 10 tomato plants up there, plus my squash and a strawberry bush, baby corn, a bean plant and a sickly lavender plant. I haven't been able to get up there since I planted them but the friend who owns the property is sending good reports. In the meantime I have my city plants to tend to.
