For the last three years I have been working a very wonderful but hectic and time consuming job teaching at a preschool in Tribeca. I loved my job but I ran the after school program so my work day started at 8:15 AM and ended at 5:45 PM. After moving to the Bronx two years ago, my commute increased from 20 minuets to an hour plus. This meant I woke up at 5:30, left the house at 6:45, got to school at 8:15, used my hour and a half lunch break to go to the gym, left work at 5:45, and got home after 7 PM. Every. Day. I loved my job but I was tired and constantly running. All my time was accounted for. In June I said goodbye to my job in Tribeca and started teaching at a school on the upper west side of Manhattan. Right now is summer camp but in the Fall my hours will be less and I will have more time. I'm still learning to adjust to not constantly being on the go. To having time for myself. I miss my Tribeca students everyday though having a camp full of new kids is a great help.
This new scheduled puts me in a position to actually blog more, something I always say I'm going to do but never had time for before. It also gives me time to plan my wedding which is coming up in October (less then four months! ::insert gulp here::) It also will give me time to cook! I always talk about cooking but I never had time before. Right now in the heart of summer our kitchen on the top floor of our building gets direct sunlight and is at a constant 98 degrees. I don't handle heat well but in the Fall, watch out world! I am going to cook things!
So yes, more blogging. More updates hopefully and this time I will try to post at least every Sunday. That sounds do-able at least to start. For now, please enjoy this engagment photo my cousin took of me and the HTB (Husband to Be). It was taken in the courtyard of my mothers building where I grew up and I love everything about it. That's all for now.
