The Time I did the Color Run

Ok so I have been training for the color run for months. I did it last year and basically walked it but this year I was going to run it. I signed up along with a friend who is a seasoned runner and I hit the gym. Hard. Three days a week with walk/run intervals. I felt great, I lost a little weight, it was all gravy and then a week before the race it all went to hell. I jumped on the treadmill and couldn't run. It was painful.
It was determined that I had developed shin splints. So I walked/ran the race again. I was really heartbroken about it and since then I've somewhat fallen off the gym wagon. It seems the shin splints led to a hip pain so I've just been laying low and gaining weight back. It really sucks. I know I'll get back on the treadmill soon but I miss it so much. I never thought I would but I do.
Anyway, my wonderful friend Mandy walked it with me, even when she could have ran it in 10 mins and been done and we had a blast anyway. Here are some pictures. If you like paint and mild exercise, you should do the color run.

I moved!

Hey remember that time I moved and didn't post a blog update for just about 8 months? Yeah, I feel kinda bad about that. Many things have happened in the last 8 months and I've been busy adjusting to a new place and working and just living life. Here is a brief summery of life right now...

I moved to the Bronx. I increased my commute by about an hour. As far as living with my boyfriend, that has been a blast. We have a Super Mario themed bathroom, a Halloween themed kitchen and a turquoise bedroom. I'm messy, he's neat. We are working through that.

I got my tonsils removed a week after I moved. But they wouldn't let me keep them OR take a picture of them for me. This annoyed me. They have been such a pain in my life and I wanted to see what had caused such a fuss all my life. Dear boyfriend was a great caretaker and trust me, I was not an easy patient.

Anyway, I will, I WILL update more often. I have nothing better to do on my hour + commute to work.
